Surita

Mariemont Full Home Remodel in Sacramento

The Surita Street Project

Project Overview

Location: Marymont, Sacramento, CA
Project Type: Full Home Remodel (Fast-Track Renovation)
Scope: Kitchen, Bathrooms, Flooring, Doors & Trim, HVAC Relocation, Exterior Landscaping
Timeline: 2–3 Months
Project Goal: Full transformation before move-in

A Full Transformation on a Tight Deadline

When these homeowners purchased their new property on Surita Street, they faced a unique challenge: they needed a complete renovation finished in just a few short months.

Coming from a previously remodeled home with modern, high-end finishes, they weren’t willing to compromise their lifestyle by moving into an outdated space. At the same time, a leaseback agreement on their current home meant their move-in date was fixed, and fast approaching!

The home itself required significant updates—from an aging kitchen and worn finishes to outdated systems and layout inefficiencies.

The mission was clear: deliver a fully updated, move-in-ready home—without extending the timeline.

Client Goals

  • Complete a full home remodel within a strict 2–3 month timeline

  • Match the level of finish and quality from their previous renovated home

  • Create a luxury kitchen designed for everyday use

  • Open up and improve the functionality of the entryway

  • Replace outdated materials with durable, high-quality upgrades throughout

The Challenges: Speed Without Compromise

Fast-track renovations often require trade-offs—but in this case, quality couldn’t slip.

Key challenges included:

  • A highly compressed construction timeline

  • Coordinating multiple trades simultaneously

  • Delivering high-end finishes under tight timeline pressures

  • Solving layout and mechanical issues quickly

One of the most significant obstacles was the home’s HVAC system, which was located directly in the entryway—taking up valuable space and limiting the home’s first impression. In exchange for a front door furnace, we were able to relocate the mechanicals to the attic and provide a much-needed coat closet and expanded entryway.

The AB Bespoke Home Approach

This project highlighted AB Bespoke Home’s ability to act as a single, coordinated team—handling design, engineering, and construction under one roof.

While it may intuitively seem quicker to have different teams working together simultaneously to reach and end goal in time, this would actually be a case of ‘too many cooks in the kitchen.’ This situation demands a single clear leader capable of coordinating the chaotic symphony of construction. With a clear plan and tight coordination, AB Bespoke Home executed multiple upgrades in parallel while maintaining quality and communication.

Kitchen Transformation

The kitchen became the centerpiece of the home:

  • Full gut renovation

  • New custom cabinetry

  • New countertops

  • Hardwood flooring throughout

  • High-end appliances

A standout feature was the addition of a pot filler, a must-have detail that elevated both function and luxury for a client who loves to cook.

Whole-Home Upgrades

To create a cohesive and elevated feel throughout the home we:

  • Replaced all hollow-core doors with solid-core doors, including adding new door casings for a fresh look

  • Installed new baseboards throughout the home, not only over the sections of new hardwood flooring

  • Installed new AND repaired old hardwood flooring - ALL of it was refinished

  • Applied a full interior repaint

These upgrades eliminated the “dated” feel and created consistency across every space.

Bathroom Renovations

Both bathrooms were fully updated with a focus on durability and modern design:

Bathroom One:

  • Marble solid-surface wall surrounds replacing tile

  • New vanity, countertops, plumbing fixtures, and toilet

  • New marble tile floor to match the upgraded tub surrounds

Bathroom Two:

  • Reconfigured layout by removing a wall

  • Installed a glass-enclosed shower to open up the space

  • New tile flooring, vanity, countertops, and plumbing fixtures

HVAC Relocation & Entryway Improvement

One of the most impactful upgrades involved relocating the HVAC system:

  • Moved unit from entryway to attic

  • Installed new ducting and refrigerant lines

  • Built a new attic platform for the system

This transformation opened up the entryway, significantly improving both layout and first impression.

Exterior Refresh

To complete the transformation, we updated the home’s exterior landscaping—creating a cohesive look that matched the fully renovated interior.

Design & Features

  • Luxury kitchen with high-end appliances and pot filler

  • Solid-core doors and upgraded trim throughout

  • Refinished hardwood flooring

  • Marble bathroom surrounds

  • Glass-enclosed shower for improved spatial flow

  • Relocated HVAC system for better layout and functionality

  • Updated exterior landscaping

The Results

In a matter of months, this outdated home was transformed into a fully modern, move-in-ready space that matched the quality and comfort of the client’s previous home.

Despite the aggressive timeline, the project delivered:

  • A cohesive, high-end aesthetic throughout

  • Improved layout and functionality

  • Reduced stress through clear communication and weekly updates

The homeowners were able to transition seamlessly into their new space—without sacrificing the level of finish they were accustomed to.

This project demonstrates how the right planning, coordination, and expertise can deliver exceptional results—even under tight deadlines.
